In the current era, the sun is set against the backdrop of the constellation of Gemini during June 15 and July 16.The sun sign is indicative of the manner in which the individual finds expression, for it is the source of the life force. The solar energies absorb and reflect the characteristics of the sign in which the sun finds itself: and the individual born at this time of the year will find that, at heart, he or she embodies Geminian traits. The other two most important personal factors within the birth chart are the Ascendant and moon. If either of these are positioned within the Gemini field of influence, then the individual will also find that he or she or she reflects Geminian traits, as would anyone with Mercury significantly placed in their chart. Gemini is symbolised by the Twins as this represents the dual nature that is characteristic of their nature. Within Gemini dwells two polarities, something which is evidenced by their changeability. There seems to be a constant, internal, struggle to reconcile these two different aspects of their personality. United but not whole, because their active mentality, which is continuously probing, is the basis of this division. There is no gray area in between as, from a Geminian standpoint, life is also divided between the two polarities. Unfortunately 'though, the average Gemini person cannot maintain a constant opinion because they can see both sides of any situation. So, in one moment, they will voice a certain opinion, which they hold to be true at that time and, in the next instance, Gemini has changed their viewpoint to the other alternative. This sort of changeability also associated with impulsive behaviour, connected to an impatience with life. Mercury is the planetary ruler of Gemini and this is indicative of the active mentality of Gemini. As a native of this sign, they tend to have a natural intellectual ability that allows a tremendous scope for expression. Not only do they have a way with words, but their minds are so quickly perceptive that they are able to make use of that famous mercurial wit or, in a negative sense, utilise a biting sarcasm. The Gemini person can also be terribly persuasive because of their eloquence. The intellectuality tends to approach the philosophical rather than the practical, in the analysis of life. There tends, also, to be a high idealism that is so often lacking in life. Yet, at times, it is often difficult to translate these ideas into practical terms because they lack synthesis and form. The Gemini mind continually probes because they realise that they do not have all the answers to life. This sort of probing takes them on an endless trail leading into the infinite recesses of the mind. Communication is a key word for the Gemini person. It is the principle of communication that is the basis of their life and existence. Gemini is outgoing: it is necessary for them to be involved in the hub of life, as it allows a release of their enormous mental and nervous energies which, if suppressed, leads to all sorts of problems. Restlessness, nervousness and worry are the first symptoms of this repression. If not controlled, this can lead to accidents, depression, problems related to breathing or infection of the lungs, as well as intestinal problems. So it is important for Gemini to realise that an active routine on a daily basis should be incorporated into their daily life. However, this must also be balanced by regular periods of rest, lest too much activity leads to excessive excitation of their sensitive nervous system and imagination. Because daily routine is important to Gemini, people with whom they are in contact in the normal course of life also play an important role in their lives. Brothers, sisters, relatives, friends and neighbours have a significant affect upon the Geminian way of life. If communications are good, then life functions smoothly and has a positive affect upon them. However, if there are problems evident in this area of life, then it has a tremendously disturbing affect upon them. Should it be felt that communication is cut, then the typical remedy would be an overreaction in the form of excessive talk. In such a situation, the Gemini person feels a sense of isolation much more strongly and sooner than most. Social activity is a key part of their function. As an individual, Gemini is extremely capable, having the ability to manage all forms of communication, providing that there are no negative manifestations in the chart to indicate the contrary. In the positive sense, they can be studious, resourceful and dexterous while, in the negative sense, they can lack patience, perseverance, concentration, with a leaning to exaggeration and gossip. Utilising the positive aspects would ensure that Gemini functions well in any area of communication, public relations, teaching or transport.
